responsibility speech
Today we begin a new year of learning and maturing. Of trying new things and reviewing old ones. We all have a responsibility to see that the best learning can happen. My responsibility, as your mother, is to see that you have proper meals, clean clothes, proper rest and sleep, playtime to exercise your bodies and baths to keep them clean. My responsibility, as your teacher, is to see that you have an environment that is full of opportunities for you to explore the world around you, provide space for you to think, quiet times for you to read and instruction for you to learn. You, also, have responsibilities. You are responsible to do your best. To do the assignments given. To try and not quit. To not whine or complain, but instead to speak plainly if you are having trouble. You are responsible to be an active part of your learning. Now, there are going to be times and days when things get tough. When lessons don't go the way either of us planned. But we can still learn from those times and grow and mature. So I say, let's start off ready, eager and willing to learn and do our best, together! Let's have the Best Year Ever!!!
